Earth day 2023 - Bubble tea problem and how we are going to solve it.
Posted on April 22 2023,
Bubble tea has been a popular drink for many years, and it's typically served in a plastic cup with a plastic straw. But did you know that these materials are bad for the environment? Plastic can take thousands of years to break down, and it can harm wildlife and pollute our oceans.
At Le Dante, we believe that it's time to change the way we serve bubble tea. That's why we're proud to announce that we're are always to use 100% paper cups and straws. Not only are these materials biodegradable and compostable, but they're also a more sustainable choice for the environment.
Our goal is to inspire others in the bubble tea industry to make the switch to eco-friendly materials. By working together, we can reduce the amount of plastic waste that ends up in our landfills and waterways, and make a positive impact on the planet.
Also another problem with bubble tea in the West, is that most of the ingredients are imported from Taiwan or Asian countries. the transportation has affects on the environment like using fusel engergy, affects directly with the green house effect. Then the product got transmitted to several countries in the EU by truck and air. which has additional effect on the environment
How are we going to solve this problem ?
In Le Dante we only work with direct importer from Taiwan that imports the products using Carbon Neutral transportation, and in within EU, we partner with DHL which has an excellent record of being carbon neutral in Ocean Freight and ground transportation. DHL can archive this effective in transportation because they have an optimized IT solution that calculate smartly the route . https://www.dhl.com/global-en/delivered/sustainability/carbon-neutral-ocean-freight.html
So the next time you're sipping on a delicious bubble tea from Le Dante, know that you're not only enjoying a great drink, but you're also doing your part for the environment. Let's work together to change the concept of bubble tea and make it a more sustainable experience for everyone.
